The stay in the lakeside suite was a real highlight, offering beautiful views that made every moment special. We loved the cozy ambiance, particularly with a fireplace ready to warm us after dinner. Plus, the welcome touch of artisan bread upon arrival was delightful. It’s such a peaceful spot, perfect for unwinding, and the close proximity to Dullstroom with its charming shops added to our experience. the lack of air conditioning made it a bit uncomfortable at night.

A balance of wins and fails
The staff displayed impressive attention to detail, making us feel truly welcome. Afternoon tea on the verandah overlooking the pond was a highlight, and dinner was exquisitely prepared.
The room had some maintenance issues, such as a mouldy shower and missing tiles, limiting the luxurious experience we anticipated.

Had a relaxing time at Walkersons. My room, the Lakeside Suite, offered stunning views over the trout dam. Quiet and immaculate with a cozy ambiance, especially with the fireplace lit upon our return from dinner. The restaurant provided excellent dinner with a four-course meal that was creatively prepared and presented, making it a delightful dining experience. Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the valley, which was lovely. we faced an inconvenience leaving behind some clothes. Despite contacting the hotel, they couldn't find the items. Having a more efficient communication system for lost items would improve their service. The grounds are beautiful for a peaceful walk, but the road leading there was quite treacherous.

We explored the walking trails on the estate, which were a hit with our teenagers. The serene atmosphere and beautiful surroundings made for a perfect family outing. The lakeside views from our spacious room were simply stunning, enhancing our overall experience.
For dads, it would be great if there were more activities for teens.

Lovely getaway for relaxation!
What an amazing place! The outdoor shower and fireplace in our room made it super cozy. We loved exploring the nature walk past the trout dams and soaking in the views. The restaurant had some really delicious meals, but sometimes the wait for food was a bit longer than expected. All in all, a fab experience!
